Our summer of travel is over. It was too much and perfect all at once. But in the midst of it all I made an announcement on Instagram that I don’t know if I shared here, mainly, that I’m halfway through writing a coming-of-age romance and it’s been so very fun!

Okay so I did share about it over here on Notes, but not with you all, in the newsletter.

I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but often when I’m dreaming, I’ll get these full-story downloads. Like I just watched a movie in my sleep. If I tell you this love story came to me in a dream, are you going to immediately unsubscribe??

But it’s true. It did. The characters, their names, their struggles, their love all unfolded so clearly. I woke up and knew I needed to write it. The process has reignited my creative fire.

You see, about a year and a half ago I started writing a novel that has struggled to come out. I love the story so much, the characters, the setting, but writing it has felt…too pressured. I’ve felt stuck, insecure about my writing, wanting so badly for it to be as good on paper as it is in my bed, and feeling like I’m failing.

I feel like Claire and Ayaan’s love story was a gift from the universe to remind me of how to have fun again. To trust, that if I’m enjoying myself, the readers will too. To not take it all so seriously and not stifle my writing before I’ve even started.

So today, below the paywall, I’m going to share the first-ever blurb, like the kind you’d read on the back of a book. Hope you love it as much as I do.
